Brother D fought the internet while Miss Bren fought a wasp to bring you Episode 74 of Mail Order Zombie, the show devoted to zombie movies . . . and a little bit more! Events outside of Mail Order Zombie Central's control threatened to keep you from getting your MOZ fix, but a little help from the Mail Order Zombie Family helped to make this show one you can't miss! O'Day returns with the first installment in a series of MOZ Survival Tips instructing us on personal combat and the undead. Mathew from Shelbytownship, Michigan, brings two new installments of The ABCs of Zombies (and he's thrilled to be able to talk about a movie Brother D once called "not-a-zombie-movie"). And Jay Emmitt and Need-a-Nickname Scott step up to handle the news chores in this week's Zombie Beat. Of course, there are reviews this week as well - Brother D looks at the ultra independent movies Doomed to Consume, directed by Jason Stephenson, and Fast Zombies With Guns, directed by Bennie Woodell; and Miss Bren takes a break from her zombies to dive into the post-apocalyptic world of Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road in Miss Bren's Post Script. We're still taking answers for the June Zombie Aptitude Test; we need to know what you'd do if the zombie apocalypse was Return of the Living Dead-flavored, so call or write us to take part in this ZAT question. Remember Brother D mentioning the upcoming Summer Knights event this August? In this week's episode, a few more details are spilled for the Family. As always, the Feedback Discussion holds down the backhalf of the show. Email us at MailOrderZombie@gmail.com or call us at 206-202-2505! There are two zombie movies floating around right now that have zombie movies fans waiting and wondering, and Mail Order Zombie has them both right here this week in Episode 73. Brother D reviews Dead Snow, directed by Tommy Wirkola, and he and Miss Bren sit down to watch Pontypool, directed by Bruce McDonald. Brother D crashes Miss Bren's Post Script with a book review of his own when he reviews the book Zombie Holocaust: How the Living Dead Devoured Pop Culture, written by David Flint and released by Plexus Publishing Limited, and two Mail Order Zombie Family members have contributions this week: Chris Toohey reviews Scott Sigler's audio story Passenger, and Mathew from Shelbytownship, Michigan, gives us another installment in his ABCs of Zombies series. Two contests have winners announced this week, and we're still accepting answers for the current Zombie Aptitude Test. The Feedback Discussion is filled with old friends, new MOZ Family Members and funny words. Email us at MailOrderZombie@gmail.com or call us at 206-202-2505! The screams of horror movie fans have finally been heard as Sony Pictures Home Entertainment unleashes the eagerly awaited 80’s horror comedy Night of the Creeps on DVD for the first time ever this October 20, 2009, featuring the Director’s Cut of this camp classic. Fans can now relive this chillingly entertaining cult classic about a small college town ravaged by killer slugs from outer space as Writer/Director Fred Dekker intended, with the original ending and loaded with killer bonus features including over sixty minutes of all-new Behind-the-Scenes featurettes. In this campy chiller, a college couple in 1959, see an object plummet to Earth like a meteor. The boy accidentally swallows a space-slug that shoots out. In 1986, two freshmen roam the campus and stumble across the corpse of the boy who swallowed the space-slug. Once thawed out, the corpse comes to life. Tune in to Episode 73 of Mail Order Zombie to hear more details about this DVD release in the Zombie Beat!

Episode 72 of Mail Order Zombie is another super-sized episode of straight-to-DVD-zombie-movie-goodness . . . and a little bit more. Brother D takes a look two zombie movies this week: Melvin, from director Henry Weintraub; and RetarDEAD, from the team of Rick Popko and Dan West, are reviewed. In the middle of the movie reviews, Brother D sits in with Miss Bren during the Post Script to talk about the post-apocalyptic novel Swan Song by Robert McCammon. Dr. J presents the next installment of his Med of the Dead series, and Zombie Hunter Tony submits another Zombie Squad report, this time covering an game store event that was crashed by zombies. Also, Miss Bren and Brother D attended the 2009 Crypticon Horror Convention in Seattle, WA, this past weekend, so in this episode, you'll get to drop in on the Phantasm panel, as well as hear from folks like Ken Foree, Adrienne King and Reggie Bannister. He didn't get a chance to do so last week, so Brother D met with Platoon of the Dead special make-up effects artist Rob Merickel at Crypticon, and this interview makes its way into this week's episode as well. You'll hear all this, plus the Zombie Aptitude Test, the Feedback Discussion, another contest and two birthday greetings in this week's episode of Mail Order Zombie. Episode 71 of Mail Order Zombie is filled with pudding! And zombie movies! And a book! And undead karaoke? In this week's episode, Brother D reviews the zombie movie DVDs Dead Summer, directed by Eddie Benevich (courtesy of SRS Cinema), and the upcoming Destined to be Ingested, directed by Sofian Khan. And how often do you get to watch a straight-to-DVD zombie movie on the big screen? Brother D did just that at the World Premiere of John Bowker's Platoon of the Dead. He also interviewed the director as well as producer Joe Sherlock. In Miss Bren's Post Script, Miss Bren reviews the short novel Deadlands by Scott A. Johnson. Throughout the entire episode, the Zombie Aptitude Test submissions are reviewed (ah, THAT'S where the undead karaoke came from!), and a new ZAT question is laid out before the class (this ZAT question was suggested by MOZ Family Member Harold Jennett, whose work you can check out at http://www.mimescomic.com/). And if you listen closely, you might hear about a contest somewhere in the episode . . . Special thanks to everyone who submitted a ZAT answer last month. Y'all know who you are . . . Scott, Tracey, Steve, Julie, Gord, Patrick, Slug, Wayne, Terror Haute Kent, Jay and Third Coast Zed . . . ! Email us at MailOrderZombie@gmail.com or call us at 206-202-2505!
