Mail Order Zombie #175 finds Brother D settling down for an in-depth look at the zombie comedy DeadHeads (dir. Brett Pierce & Drew T. Pierce), and he brings Need-A-Nickname Scott along for the roadtrip . . . er . . . ride. In addition to all this movie talk, this episode of MOZ also delivers reviews of two zombie books (David Moody's Autumn, reviewed by Casey Criswell; and James Knapp's State of Decay, reviewed by Silent Death) and a zombie videogame (Miss Bren reads a Resident Evil: Director's Cut review by Empty Wallet Gamers' Eric Lee Lewis). The Zombie Beat makes its return with Need-a-Nickname Scott's round-up of the latest in zombie news (with an assist from Richard from Wichita), 'dillo brings us a wee bit of fun in the form of a short audiodrama, and the rest of the MOZ Family get in on the act in the Feedback Discussion. |

In this episode of Mail Order Zombie, Brother D talks about a zombie movie that's been on his radar since he first heard about it in 2010, but since it has such an innocuous name like The Dead (dir. Howard J. Ford and Jonathan Ford), it was difficult to find much information about it online before it was released in the UK last year. It hits DVD and Blu-ray in the US this month, and you'll have to listen to Episode #174 to hear if the movie lives up to D's expectations! This episode also features the first of MOZ's occasional Palette Cleansers in which D walks the MOZ Family through JABB pictures' The Collective Vol. 2. After the Feedback at the end of the show with Miss Bren, D takes some inspiration from a recent episode of Outside the Cinema and presents his Top Six List of Zombie Movies That Would Make Awesome Video Games. |

It could be argued that Bill Hinzman's performance in the original Night of the Living Dead created the zombie archetype that would define our favorite movie monster for over forty years. In March 2011, he appeared on Mail Order Zombie for an interview supporting his then-latest movie River of Darkness, and during the interview Brother D and Mr. Hinzman couldn't leave the zombies alone. |

You can take the zombie movie podcaster out of the podcaster, but you can't take the zombie movies out of his DVD player. Brother D is BACK with Mail Order Zombie, and he's picking up right where he left off with Episode #173. He rocks a double feature of rockin' zombie movies - 1985's Hard Rock Zombies (dir. Krishna Shah) and 2011's Pop Punk Zombies (dir. Steve Dayton). The Evans City Cemetery in Pennsylvania is the cemetery seen in the opening moments of the horror classic Night of the Living Dead. The chapel in that cemetery, which appears in the film, is scheduled to be torn down. WE CAN'T HAVE THAT, CAN WE ZOMBIE FANS!!?? |

We're not podfading - we're pod-recharging! This is Episode 172, the final-for-now episode of Mail Order Zombie, and before we go on hiatus for the rest of 2011, we've got a lot of business to finish. Brother D takes a look at the movies World of the Dead: The Zombie Diaries (dir. Michael Bartlett and Kevin Gates), Attack of the Moon Zombies (dir. Christopher R. Mihm) and Woods of Terror/Zombie Village (dir. Jason Impey). MOZ Family Member Zombiwan calls in to help talk about the movie Forest of the Dead (dir. Brian Singleton), and Miss Bren sits down with D to watch and talk about Season One of the television series Zombie Hunters: City of the Dead (created by Patrick Devaney, who's featured with producer Chrisopher J. Murphy in an interview from HorrorHound Weekend). Need-a-Nickname Scott & Tracey bring us another recording from the Famous Monsters of Filmland from earlier this year. This time around, they bring us the panel devoted to the Dead Letter Award-winning documentary Autopsy of the Dead. If you listen closely, you'll get to hear Scott even ask the panel a question or two (but, oddly enough, he doesn't ask about the naked zombie - go figure).
